Information for Students and Parents 

Data protection law makes a distinction between organisations that determine how and why personal information is used (known as “Data Controllers”) and organisations that process personal information on behalf of other organisations (known as “Data Processors”). 

Alkemygold Limited (trading as “Alps”) provides educational technology services to schools, colleges and groups. In providing those services, Alps acts as a Data Processor for the relevant school or college. The school or college remains the Data Controller for the data processed through Alps. This means the school or college is responsible for determining what data is used, the purpose for which it is used, the lawful basis for processing and the information provided to pupils and parents about that processing. Alps only process data provided by the school or college in accordance with their instructions and for the purpose of providing the services agreed with them.  

If you have questions about your child’s data or how your child’s school or college is making use of services like Alps, please contact the school or college directly. Any pupil, parent or guardian enquiries we receive will be directed to the relevant school or college as the Data Controller.  

In some limited circumstances, Alps may act as a Data Controller in its own right. Further information about this processing is set out in our Privacy Policy.
