Alps – As valuable as ever for 2020/21
We know that at the moment you are wrestling with important decisions that will affect your students in this unique situation in which we find ourselves.
We continue to be here to help – and we passionately believe that this coming year is one in which your Alps analysis is as important, relevant and vital as in previous years, if not more. In the absence of the L3VA, Progress 8 and other indicators, your Alps analysis and the tools embedded in Connect Interactive are all you need to plan for continuous improvement in student outcomes. If used effectively, this enables you to celebrate the future successes that both they and your teachers work so hard to achieve.
As a leader/manager in a school/college, we believe that you will still find the in-year modelling of student and subject performance to be invaluable. Our Connect Interactive platform effectively allows you to decide which subject/student priorities should be established in-year, what resources should be allocated and where to put them, and which staff need to be helped, supported, praised or challenged. Without Alps, your students might not benefit from the insights you will gain, or from curriculum changes that are required; and there might be a risk that your teachers and managers may not give your challenges the attention they deserve.
Since national grade expectations and tables will not be available for 2020/21 (and potentially beyond), the huge data sets we have established at Alps over the years – and the relevance they bring – will provide reassurance to schools and colleges at a time when national and local comparison of outcomes is no longer possible. We believe that we are well placed to help you during the coming year.
Alps is about school/college improvement and improving student outcomes. Alps is not a process which has been established solely to reflect national performance tables or targets. The three pillars of Alps (teaching, pastoral care and leadership) are as relevant as ever, and you can be reassured that these will continue to be reflected in everything we do and as we develop new features to complement those existing ones.
For now, I’d really recommend looking at our fantastic updated resources and the free webinars that we are running throughout the summer, on how to best use Alps to help with the current challenges and into next year. Click the button below to view listings and sign-up for all-new Alps webinars:
