Meet Mel, our marvellous CRM Administrator

4th September 2024

For our latest ‘Meet the Team’ blog, we sat down with our marvellous CRM Administrator Mel, to find out about her career background, her biggest achievements at Alps and what advice she would give to aspiring CRM experts.

Hi Mel, can you tell us a bit about yourself and your career background?

I graduated in Creative Digital Media in 2012, pursuing a career in graphic and web design that took me through to becoming a Marketing Manager where I discovered my love for Zoho and all things automation and process related. My background has really complimented being a CRM administrator, not only visually but also in the way I develop solutions in my projects too.

So far, what have been your biggest achievements at Alps?

I’m really proud of how far we’ve come with data analysis –  changing day to day automations and processes to clean up admin so we can get accurate meaningful metrics. Maybe the biggest achievement is the health score project I worked on. Working out how to get data between 2 systems efficiently and process it into the formats we needed was a tough challenge and there are a lot of formulas and if statements involved, but it works now!

What have you learned, or how have you grown in your role since working for Alps?

I’ve learned so much being at Alps and feel I’ve really flourished in my role here, my development skills in Deluge and SQL have improved even more  and I’ve learned a lot from taking on the AGILE approach to my work.

It’s also been incredible to work in such a cohesive team and have an amazing team leader, after a while of working solo.

What is your favourite thing about working at Alps?

I love working in a team where we really complement each others working styles and thought processes, it’s meant that every project we work on has had all our goals met and often exceeded.

What advice would you give aspiring CRM Software Administrators?

Think outside the box. Often the solutions you are looking for are simpler in theory than you first realise, just not so obvious. Flow  charts are your best friend and lastly, always add notes to your code.

Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I took a break from my career to follow my dream of having a food business where I specialised in Filipino cuisine showcasing my family recipes. It was a wonderful journey to go on and gave me great experiences and friendships.
