This month we wanted to give you all the opportunity to meet our brilliant Project Coordinator and Scrum Master, Paula Kopiczko. Paula is a vital member of the Alps Engineering Team, ensuring each stage of our developments and new products runs smoothly and efficiently.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Alps?

I wear two hats on the daily basis – I’m Project Coordinator and Scrum Master in our Engineering Team. Since joining Alps in November 2020, I’ve had the chance to help coordinate technical and non-technical projects, but at the same time, coaching the team on understanding and following the Scrum framework and its values.

Can you tell us a bit about your career background?

I started my career as a drafter in the automotive and manufacturing industry, creating detailed technical drawings. This has definitely taught me patience and attention to detail. Then, for several years I’ve been working as a Project Manager, specialising in New Product Design introductions to worldwide markets.

What made you want to be a Project Coordinator?

Having a good knowledge and understanding of the traditional project management techniques, I decided to take on a new challenge and start my adventure with Scrum and Agile at Alps.

I have always been passionate about projects – there’s something incredibly satisfying about overseeing each stage of development, no matter if it’s a new software, a new platform or a physical product.  

Do you have any top tips on being a successful Project Coordinator at Alps

Every day could bring a new challenge, especially in such a fast-paced environment like software development… So, it wouldn’t surprise anyone by saying, it’s definitely about the organisation and problem-solving skills!

Also, working closely with a technical “left-brained” team requires lots of creativity in communicating the outcome of our work to the rest of the business! Don’t be scared to use colourful charts and presentations.
