Meet Gemma, Alps’ Wonderful Contracts Administrator
Meet our wonderful Contracts Administrator, Gemma Foxley. As part of our Customer Success Team, Gemma ensures that everything runs smoothly for the Multi Academy Trusts and Groups we work with. Earlier this month, we sat down with Gemma to find out more about what she loves most about working for Alps and her top tip for someone wanting to start a career in Customer Success.
Hi Gemma, can you tell us a bit about yourself, your career background and your role at Alps?
I joined the Alps Team in 2019, taking a slight change of direction after spending the previous 12 years working in various project management roles. My role at Alps is Contracts Administrator, so my main focus is on our group contracts with Local Authorities and Multi-Academy Trusts. My responsibilities are quite varied and change throughout the academic year, but include; drawing up contracts for clients, liaising with the schools that are part of those contracts, arranging contracted training sessions and anything and everything else that comes my way!
What do you enjoy most about working at Alps?
It’s just a really genuinely nice place to work where both the staff and the clients are clearly valued. Gone are the days of getting the Sunday night dread (OK, I don’t work Mondays, but I don’t get the Monday night dread either…). I like that every day is a little bit different, and is always busy, but manageable, because everyone plays their part.
So far, what has been your biggest achievement at Alps?
I think my biggest achievement is probably the relationships I’ve built up with the group clients. I keep in regular contact with each of Alps’ contracting groups throughout the year, and have had lots of really positive feedback. I was on maternity leave for much of 2021, and was happy to be welcomed back by those clients on my return like I’d never been away!
What have you learned, or how have you grown in your role since working for Alps?
My role has expanded into other areas since I started working for Alps. When I started in 2019, my role actually sat within our finance team, but when our Customer Success Team was established, I found a natural home there. More recently, I have also joined forces with our training team, taking responsibility for the elements of training that are included as part of any group contracts. I also liaise with a lot of the different teams at Alps, which means I’m constantly learning.
What advice would you give someone wanting to start a career in Customer Success?
If you love working with people and are driven by results, then Customer Success is a great career path and offers lots of opportunity to branch out and develop new skills. Working in Customer Success is mostly about having the right attitude, you can learn the rest along the way!
Interesting Fact about Gemma:
