Alps Platinum Training Package
Package overview
As part of our CPD provision for schools, our Alps Consultants provide training for groups of school staff with responsibility for student achievement at both KS4 and KS5. Led by consultants with experience of improving outcomes the sessions will take colleagues through the key elements of the Alps approach and how Alps Connect can be used to improve student outcomes.
The Platinum Training Package consists of four sessions which can be delivered as part of one training day or on separate occasions.
Session One – Subject Teachers
Content
This practical session will provide a comprehensive introduction to Alps Connect from a classroom teacher’s perspective whilst also providing an insight into strategies that are used by classroom teachers to achieve outstanding performance.
Key aspects covered:
- Understanding the Alps Methodology
- How prior attainment data and Alps Connect can be used to set ambitious targets at a student level
- How Alps Connect can be used to effectively monitor student progress at a subject teacher level
Session Two – Middle Leaders
Content
This practical session will provide a comprehensive introduction to Alps Connect from a middle leader’s perspective whilst also providing an insight into strategies that are used effectively in schools and colleges with experience of outstanding achievement.

- Understanding the Alps Methodology
- How prior attainment data and Alps Connect can be used to set ambitious targets at a subject and student level
- How Alps Connect can be used to effectively monitor student progress at a subject level
- How Alps Connect can be used to evaluate the impact and further develop curriculum provision and intent
Session Three – Senior Leaders
Content
This practical session will provide a comprehensive introduction to Alps Connect from a senior leader’s perspective whilst also providing an insight into strategies that are used effectively in schools and colleges with a proven track record of outstanding achievement.
Key aspects covered:
- Understanding the Alps Methodology
- Understanding key performance indicators and Alps strategic analysis
- How prior attainment data and Alps Connect can be used to set ambitious targets at cohort, subject, and student levels
- How Alps Connect can be used to effectively monitor student progress at cohort, subject, and student levels
- How Alps Connect can be used to evaluate impact across the curriculum for key student groups and further develop provision and intent
Session Four – Governors
Content
This practical session will provide a comprehensive introduction to Alps analysis from a governor’s perspective and is designed to help governors in supporting and holding school leaders to account.
Key aspects covered:
- Understanding the Alps Methodology and how national benchmarks are used to set aspirational targets and to evaluate student progress
- Understanding key Alps performance indicators, Alps strategic analysis and how these relate to government accountability measures
- Understanding of Alps Connect and how schools and colleges can use it to drive improvement in student progress
- Knowing the key questions to ask school leaders relating to student achievement and outcomes for key groups of learners
Cost
Remote/Online Training: 4 x 2 Hour Sessions: £1099 + VAT (Can be delivered over the course of one day or as a series of twilight sessions)
School-Based Training: Extended Day (4 x 1.5 Hour Sessions): £1499 + VAT
